The United Players has always has a strong contingent of younger members who rise through the ranks through chorus roles and playing mice and ducks and other silent woodland folk to star in their own right.

As with all things, Panto is the big event of the year - but what to do from February to July? Well what else is an amateur drama group going to do? We put on some plays and the Youth members present their own Showcase. Recently it’s been two one-act plays, split between younger younger members and older-younger members, er, anyway.

In 2007 and 2008 productions were put forward for the Duncan Rand One Act Play Festival organised by Medway Little Theatre. Carrie’s Lions was an intense. spellbinding angst-fest that had us all mesmerised and won three awards including Best Director for Cameron Wilson.

In 2008 we entered the adult competition as some of the cast were too old and still won a couple of nominations and awards!

2009 brings new productions as usual. The Senior Youth have elected to enter For The Love Of Sara by Tony Layton into the Duncan Rand Festival while the Junior Youth have gone for The Wizard Of Oz, a One-Act adaptation of the classic story by Frank L Baum.
