United Players is all about many things. It’s all about bringing drama and thespianism to the unwashed masses, it’s all about bringing the unwashed masses to the thespians, it’s all about keeping adults who ought to know better off the streets and above all, it’s about taking part.
There are always roles for people to get involved in both on and off stage. On stage roles depend on talent and commitment and being volunteered, as are direction and production.
But we’re not all luvvies, darlings. Behind each great production (and the not so great productions) there’s an army of cowards too chicken to tread the boards. Without stage, costumes, props, tickets, marketing, lights, sounds, make-up it’s all just for nothing.
These are just some of the ways in which you can take part - and it’s not all about relentless rehearsals or having to stand up in front of an audience so relax, read up and get stuck in!
